Paranormal enthusiasts often refer to this place as the Hollydale Mental Hospital, although no such place exists and this is what they’re referring to. The place opened in 1887 as the Los Angeles County Poor Farm, evolving into Rancho Los Amigos when they wanted to give the place a better image. When the new hospital was built on the North side of the Imperial Highway, these old structures on the Southside were abandoned and are now home to hundreds of feral cats - and apparently a few ghosts.
