Abandoned streets in Stockton On Tees in the United Kingdom.(photo + submission by Duncan)  Not totally abandoned, as a handful of residents refuse to be bought out by the Council, who in turn will demolish the properties and sell the land to a private contractor for redevelopment. Entire rows of houses are totally boarded up and entire streets have already been demolished totally. The reason these 3 houses stand alone (according to a local) is the person in the middle refused to move and upon their death the deeds could not be obtained by the Council and by law if these are not obtained, 1 house either side must be left untill such time as they can all be deemed uninhabitable. Other buildings such as a pub and until recently a small factory lie boarded up and abandoned giving this place a really eerie ghost town feel.
